The Journal of Psychology in the Performing Arts emphasizes the publication of original articles that contribute new knowledge and understanding to applied arts psychology. The journal primarily considers empirical and theoretical research of interest to psychologists, educators and others doing research and developing applications. The intent of the journal is to fosters the understanding of the psychological and behavioral phenomena of individuals, groups, and organizations in settings such as education/training, performance, groups, solo or in any arena. We are interested in empirical or theoretical articles that enhance the understanding of human behavior of human behavior in the arts. These articles should have practical implications within particular contexts.

Topics appropriate for the Journal of Psychology in the Performing Arts include child psychology, performance measurement, training, motivation, attitudes, mood disorders, career development, demands in the workplace, stressors in all aspects of learning or performance, curriculum design and interventions, technology, the utility of current interventions, and cross-cultural differences in current practice and behavior attitudes.
